Vancouver Fashion Week has an exciting opportunity for an experienced International Events Coordinator to join our team!

The position is full-time, 40 hours per week.

Office Location: 707-938 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z1N9

As our International Events Coordinator you will be responsible for:

Researching markets to identify opportunities for events (in Canada and abroad)
Meet with international established and emerging designers to promote and discuss event, conversation and fashion show services
Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format of events, establish and monitor budgets and to review administrative procedures and progress of events
Co-ordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, conference and other facilities, translation/interpreting services or arrange the service, special needs requirements, audio-visual equipment and security
Plan entertainment and social gatherings for participants according to cultural expectations and norms
Hire, train and supervise support staff required for events (makeup artisits, stylists, photographers, social media experts, etc.)
Assist director with model castings, training of models and coordinating with models/model agencies during Vancouver Fashion Week

Skills/Experience Required:

A university degree or college diploma in a related field (fashion, marketing, event planning, business are preferred)
Minimum 1 year of experience in an event planning or marketing role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate in English
